Thanksgiving

We learned all about Pilgrims and Indians. A friend and I worked really hard several years ago coming up with ideas to help the kiddos realize just how different our lives are from the Pilgrims and Indians. We wanted them to get a basic understanding of some of the things they had to do just to survive. We sewed, planted corn, made corn husk dolls, stuffed mattresses, carried water on our shoulders, picked berries, fished, and a lot more. They seemed to realize how much easier our lives
are.

"carrying water" in buckets. Life for the Pilgrims and Indians was not easy!

We practiced our new-found sewing skills on magnolia leaves.
